The problem with politics is that politicians try to please everyone, because they want to keep their office and the power they have over us. Because of this, they collectively screw up everything.
There is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. It is that simple and if you vote straight party line you, my friend, are stupid.
Before we start talking about how to be heard by your politicians, let’s look at the problem we have today with gas prices and the energy policy.
The first thing we should all understand is that there is no shortage of oil in the ground here in the good old USA. The problem is the politicians you have voted into office. You will hear if we started to drill in Alaska, or off shore any place, it would take 10 years – folks that is plain B.S. It’s also what was said by Bill Clinton over 10 years ago. Here’s what we need to do:
1. Whatever Congressmen voted against drilling in Alaska – vote them out of office. I do not care if it is your brother. They are dumb. GrizzTalk will post votes of all Congressmen and Senators – we can only get a third of them this year, but they will get the point.
2. We should also vote everyone out who voted for the great new light bulbs. That was real dumb.
If USA politicians voted in an energy policy that opened Alaska, off shore, the shale oil in Colorado, New York and Utah, and approved ONE blend of gas that had a 20 percent ethanol mix with flex fuel cars (as Brazil has), the price of oil would drop. The oil problem is because of politicians, not oil companies. Yes, I know they make record profits but remember, that is more money for politicians and every state’s treasury.
Nuclear power is the cheapest electric power, period, but we have everyone wondering about the nuclear waste. The cost for nuclear power is high only because of the regulations and time for approval. We simply need laws to cut these regulations. It’s simple.
Coal gasification is also a great way to produce electric power, but the only way to get politicians moving is to throw a bunch of them out. And just a little hint: the Democrats have been a bigger supporter of you walking and eating grass.
All politicians who talk global warming, carbon taxes and being green should read a little about this Earth. It doesn’t mean squat. Look at the fires in California. How much carbon are they putting in the air, aren’t they the fools who wanted to protect the bugs, etc.? So they don’t remove the dead brush and then it burns.
How do you get something done by politicians?
All politics is local so:
1. Call your local mayor and city council member. You start local and tell them if they don’t commit, you will work to throw them out. Remember, all state and Federal politicians need local, county and state politicians to support them.
2. If you and a few friends start working on your mayor, city commissioners or county commissioners, they will tell the state representative, who will tell politicians on the Federal level.
3. All politicians only want their supporters to vote; that’s why they make voting difficult. If politicians wanted everyone to vote, they would hold elections on weekends and fine non-voters at least $100. If you don’t get involved, then you cannot complain.
Look at your choice for President this year: one young senator or one old senator. One of them will be running the largest business in the world, and in all fairness, neither have a clue. They both have some ideas, sure.
We should all pray that God shows up, tells us all how dumb we have become and offers us another chance, but first declares there will be no election and that Michelle and Cindy are Co-Presidents, with Barack and John as Co-Vice Presidents. The burning bush would tell us that both women have some business sense, and are the heroes of families. The men only have ego to offer.
